Ben Cohen is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tiamat Maritime, where he leads the company’s strategic growth, partnerships, and operational development.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Ben brings decades of leadership experience spanning military service, technology commercialization, and the public and private sectors. His time in the Marine Corps shaped an approach to leadership grounded in disciplined execution, accountability, and the ability to bring people and capabilities together in complex, high-risk environments.

Throughout his career, Ben has built multidisciplinary teams and partnerships focused on solving challenging operational and technical problems. His experience includes organizational leadership, stakeholder management, business development, technology transfer, and the commercialization of dual-use technologies. He has worked extensively at the intersection of government, industry, academia, and emerging technology, helping translate technical capabilities into practical, mission-driven outcomes.

At Tiamat Maritime, Ben applies that experience to a maritime domain where limited visibility, fragmented information, and dynamic operating conditions can introduce significant uncertainty.

 

Under his leadership, Tiamat combines human expertise with spatial intelligence technologies to deliver structured, repeatable insight across vessels and critical maritime infrastructure.

A qualified Combatant Diver, FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot, and PADI Master Scuba Diver, Ben brings firsthand operational experience to the environments Tiamat serves. His leadership philosophy reflects the company’s belief that technology is most effective when it strengthens human judgment, improves understanding, and reduces risk to people and critical assets.

In addition to Tiamat Maritime, Ben is the founder and CEO of Leviathan Collective, an organization focused on technology commercialization, venture development, and collaborative innovation. Through this work, he supports veteran entrepreneurs and early-stage ventures while building partnerships across the defense, commercial, academic, and investment communities.
